COVID-19 OPERATING PROCEDURES

  • All participants, coaches and observers (2 parents or responsible adults per player, will be required to complete the COVID-19 screening questionnaire online prior to coming to the facility. Please complete online and print a copy to bring with you.

  • Players or coaches with any risk factors or illnesses should not participate in any on-ice activity. Any player, coach or observer exhibiting symptoms or signs of an illness should not be in Kiwanis Ice Arena at any point and will be asked to leave.

  • Kiwanis Ice Arena will open 15 minutes prior to your scheduled on-ice time and the doors will be closed 15 minutes after the session starting time. Anyone arriving earlier than 15 minutes before their start time MUST wait outside, preferably at/in their car, to avoid congregating in the entrance area.

  • Players/Parents will check in and have their temperature checked outside (must be less than 100) before proceeding into the facility.

  • Players/Parents will follow a specified foot traffic pattern in the facility to limit the unnecessary exposure and interactions.

  • Kiwanis Ice Arena Foot Traffic Pattern for Public Skating:

  • As you enter the building you will be assigned a seat number. You are to go to that seat and put your skates on and leave any belongings at that seat. You will then enter the ice through the public skating door. When you are finished skating or the session is over you will return to your assigned seat and take your skates off. You will need to be out of the building no later than 15 minutes after the skating session ends. When leaving the building you will leave out the exit doors at the end of the public changing area. Masks are to be worn AT ALL TIMES while skating and inside the building.

  • Kiwanis Ice Arena Foot Traffic Pattern for Hockey practices:

  • All players/spectators will enter the rink via the main entrance doors.

  • Players/figure skaters will travel to locker rooms.

  • Players will get changed in their assigned locker room and will return to that locker room when practice is over. You will access the ice by way of the private team tunnel. You will have 15 minutes to get changed and leave out the back door of the locker room to the West Parking lot. There are to be NO Showers or usage of the bathroom area.

  • Spectators will be directed to changing/rink bleacher area. When leaving spectators will leave out the exit doors at the end of the changing area hallway.

  • Facility Capacity will be limited to 50% or less of maximum allowed capacity.

  • ALL players, Referees and coaches MUST wear a mask at all times while in The Kiwanis Ice Arena.

  • ALL parents/observers are must wear a mask at all times while in the building, please allow 6ft of social distancing when possible.

  • Acceptable face coverings for COVID-19 include but are not limited to cloth-based face coverings and disposable masks that cover both the mouth and the nose.

  • Players MUST bring their own water bottles that are clearly marked/labeled with their name. To the extent possible, water bottles should be filled prior to arrival to the rink.

  • Whenever possible, players/parents/spectators should use the restroom prior to coming to the rink in an effort to limit bathroom use at the rink.

  • No off-ice interaction (socializing, team meetings, dryland activities, etc.) will occur prior to or following the conclusion of practice.

  • Hand contact of any kind is discouraged. Avoid handshakes, high-fives, etc.

  • Parents/Guardians must be aware of the time when the players will be done. The parent or responsible person assigned to pick up players at the rink must be punctual. Players should not have to wait for a ride.

  • Coaches or other responsible adults should remain until all players have safely left the facility.

  • Kiwanis Ice Arena will provide each coach/instructor with emergency contact information for all the players in the event parents/responsible adult need to be contacted. Parents MUST ensure the information provided is accurate and the best contact info during practices.

  • All rental groups will provide Kiwanis Ice Arena with a participant list, including contact info (email and cell phone).

  • Signage indicating sanitizing stations, traffic flow, mask requirements and social distance markers denoting spaces of six feet will be placed in all observation areas in the lobby and rink area.

  • Kiwanis Ice Arena COVID-19 SANITIZING PROCEDURE

  • Prior to the start of each day, and prior to the arrival of each scheduled group frequently touched surfaces (doors, knobs, etc) bathrooms and locker rooms will be sanitized using an approved cleaning product registered in New York State and identified by the EPA as effective against COVID-19. Manufacturer recommended surface exposure time will be followed to ensure efficacy/sanitation.

  • *Showers and eating area will remain closed until further notice

  • **NO FOOD OR DRINKS (except participant water bottles) will be allowed in the facility until further notice.
